Mindfulness Classes for Nora Students
One Semester.
The Nora School is a certified Mindful School and is part of the Mindfulness In Schools Project. Research from Oxford University, UCLA, the University of Massachusetts Medical School, and many other leading universities has shown the efficacy of a mindfulness practice in reducing stress, calming anxiety, reducing depression, and generally allowing more skillful responses to life’s difficulties. All Nora students graduate having participated in the Dot-B curriculum, which is also offered yearly to parents of Nora students and adults in the community. Head of School Dave Mullen has studied under Dr. Ron Seigel of the Harvard University Medical School and Stan Eisenstein of the Insight Meditation Community of Washington, and has completed training programs with Mindful Schools and the Mindfulness in Schools Project. These classes are taught to all Nora students, usually in the fall semester.
